Everyone grieves in a different way. Some people cry; some people are stoic. Some people grieve quickly while some people take years or even decades to find closure and move on.
More than 30 years ago, a doctor working with cancer patients (Elisabeth Kübler-Ross), wrote a book entitled ‘On Death and Dying’. In the book, she described the five stages of grief most commonly experienced by those who are diagnosed with a terminal illness. Further study of this topic reveals that the stages of grief are the same for friends and family of the terminally ill patient. According to Kubler-Ross, the five stages of grief are: Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression and Acceptance.
If you, or someone you know, is going through the grieving process, consider adding holistic remedies and techniques to your healing process to help you along the path. There are some great Guided Imagery CDs to help you during your time of grief. You might also consider soothing essential oils like Lavender, and Spikenard to help you sleep. Energy healing techniques like Reiki can help to balance and cleanse the chakras and allow one to move forward.
Crystals and stones can be very helpful during this time as well in alleviating, soothing, and releasing grief. Try carrying and/or sleeping with a pouch containing Amethyst Pink Calcite, Azurite, Magnetite, Sugilite, Fire Opal and especially Apache Tears.
